Mandate for the Nations


Dr. Rondal Smith,

Dr Smith has been President of Pioneer Bible Translators from 1988 to 2005. He is a consultant in Missions, Translation, Linguistics, and represents Pioneer Bible Translators in the areas of Papua New Guinea, in the South Pacific, Zaire, Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Tanzania and Guinea in Africa; Ukraine, Russia, the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Italy in Europe, Thailand in Asia and Canada in North America

Dr. Smith received his Ph.D. and MA in Linguistics and Cultural Anthropology from Indiana University in 1965 and 1972 Since 1988, he has been coordinator and lecturer for the class "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement, throughout US

Dr. Smith was born in Lawrenceville, IL. He and his wife Janice have two children; Darin and Andria. They and their families both live in the Dallas area and have all been involved in Perspectives over the years.

Dr. Smith was minister of the Macedonia Christian Church, 1959-1961; Wrays Christian Church, 1961-1963; and Walnut Street Christian Church (now renamed the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church) 1964-1965.
